37 Racers signed up on this wet Easter morning and luckily the rain held out allowing the course to slowly dry in spots throughout the day. A few disputes where had but most everyone raced clean and have a fun day of riding this longboard playground. After a couple hours of practice, I organized the initial groupings and heats in an effort to separate the most experienced riders to ensure an entertaining and exciting race. Double elimination was the format allowing riders lots of runs and a chance to come back from a loss. Thanks to Skip Marcotte for keeping track of the heats and maintaining the brackets while I raced. And thanks to Tad and Judy for running the corners to ensure a clear and smooth race. Judy also brought cake and icecream for her son Addison's birthday for everyone to enjoy. Huey also brought some leftover pizza which went fast and Casey bought 4 large pizzas with his winnings for everyone to enjoy at Hot Lips afterwards. All in all the event went smooth and with Casey's win he has now tied Billy in the overall points standing for the PDX Downhill Series. At least 4 to 6 more races have been pre planned, so stay tuned for the next race...
